Gemeinsames Singen ist ein hervorragendes Mittel zur interkulturellen Verständigung. Die Beziehungen zwischen der deutschen und der finnische Knabenchormusik sind intensiv und historisch eng. Als Göttinger Knabenchor freuen wir uns, diese beeindruckende Tradition vertiefen zu können, denn schon seit einigen Jahren stehen wir in einem freundschaftlichen und fruchtbaren Austausch mit finnischen Knabenchören.
Die diesjährige Konzertreise führt uns vom 20.03. bis 01.04. unter anderem nach Helsinki, Turku, Tampere und Oulu. Wir freuen uns besonders auf den kulturellen Austausch mit unseren Partnerchören vor Ort.
Reiseablauf
Die 1. Station der Reise ist bei den Cantores Minores (CM) in Helsinki. Die CM gehören zu den international renommiertesten Bachspezialisten, die zugleich auf dem Gebiet der zeitgenössischen Klassik einen herausragenden Ruf haben. Mit ihnen ist am 22.3.2026 Uhr ein Freundschaftskonzert im Dom von Helsinki geplant. Am darauffolgenden Tag, dem 23.3.2026, geben wir in der Partnerschule der CM Kaisaniemi ein storytelling concert.
Am 24.3.2026 geht es weiter nach Turku, wo wir den Chorus Cathedralis Iuniorum (CCI) besuchen, der 2022 bei der Internationalen Knabenchorbegegnung in Göttingen schon bei uns zu Gast war. Es sind 2 gemeinsame Konzerte geplant, am 24.3.2026 in der Mikaelinkirkko in Turku und am 25.3. in der Klosterkirche in Naantali. Wir freuen uns auf das Wiedersehen und darauf, diese wunderbaren und traditionsreichen Orte kennenzulernen!
Von dort fahren wir zum Pirkanpojat Knabenchor nach Tampere, der uns wenige Wochen zuvor, nämlich vom 27.02 bis 1.03.2026, in Göttingen besuchen wird. In Tampere werden wir am 27.03.2026 ein Freundschaftskonzert in der Kaleva Church geben.
Am 28.03. geht es dann noch weiter in den hohen Norden, wo uns in Oulu die Knabenchöre Ynnin Pojat und Pohjantähdet-Poikakuoro erwarten. Wir sind schon sehr gespannt, denn Oulu ist 2026 Kulturhauptstadt Europas, und gemeinsam mit unseren Gastgeberchören werden wir ein Teil des Programms der Kulturhauptstadt sein. Wir freuen uns auch auf die Workshops, in denen wir an einem gemeinsamen storytelling concert arbeiten, das am 30.3. im Schulzentrum Talvikankaan koulu stattfinden und in andere Schulen in Oulu gestreamt wird. Am Abend des 30.3.2026 findet dann das große gemeinsame Abschlusskonzert im Dom von Oulu statt.
Terminlich und musikalisch umrahmt wird die Reise durch das Reiseauftaktkonzert am 15.03. um 16 Uhr in Bad Sooden-Allendorf und das Reiseabschlusskonzert am 02.04. um 18 Uhr in St. Marien, Göttingen.

Finland Concert Tour 2026
Singing together is an excellent means to promote intercultural understanding. As the Göttingen Boys‘ Choir, we are delighted to be part of the wonderful exchange between German and Finnish choral music, as we have enjoyed a friendly and fruitful exchange with Finnish boys‘ choirs for several years now.
This year’s concert tour will take us to Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, and Oulu, among other places, from March 20 to April 1. We are particularly looking forward to the cultural exchange with our partner choirs there.
Tour schedule
The first stop on the tour is with the Cantores Minores (CM) in Helsinki. The CM are among the most internationally renowned Bach specialists and also have an outstanding reputation in the field of contemporary classical music. A joint concert with them is planned for March 22, 2026, at Helsinki Cathedral. The following day, March 23, 2026, we will give a storytelling concert at Kaisaniemi Primary School.
On March 24, 2026, we will continue on to Turku, where we will visit the Chorus Cathedralis Iuniorum (CCI), which was our guest at the International Boys‘ Choir Meeting in Göttingen in 2022. Two joint concerts are planned, on March 24, 2026, at Mikaelinkirkko in Turku and on March 25 at the monastery church in Naantali. We look forward to seeing them again and getting to know these wonderful and traditional places!
From there, we will continue to Tampere to visit the Pirkanpojat Boys‘ Choir, who will be visiting us in Göttingen a few weeks earlier, from February 27 to March 1, 2026. In Tampere, we will give a joint concert at Kaleva Church on March 27, 2026.
On March 28, we will continue our journey to the far north, where the boys‘ choirs Ynnin Pojat and Pohjantähdet-Poikakuoro await us in Oulu. We are very excited, because Oulu will be the European Capital of Culture in 2026, and together with our host choirs, we will be part of the Capital of Culture program. We are also looking forward to the workshops, where we will work on a joint storytelling concert that will take place on March 30 at the Talvikankaan koulu school center and will be streamed to other schools in Oulu. On the evening of March 30, 2026, the grand joint final concert will take place in Oulu Cathedral.
The trip will be framed by the opening concert on March 15 at 4 p.m. in Bad Sooden-Allendorf and the closing concert on April 2 at 6 p.m. in St. Marien, Göttingen.
